Why is “Helthe” spelled that way? Is it a typo?

No! It’s not a typo!

Helthe – pronounced the same as ‘health’ was specifically chosen because it was an old, Middle English spelling of health with the original meaning reflecting whole or holistic health, wellbeing, prosperity and safety. To your helthe!

What is Helthe Connect?

Helthe Connect is an online marketplace focusing on Complementary Care services and products. We empower people and organizations struggling with stress and burnout by connecting them directly with Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) providers.

To understand Complementary Care, it is important to understand that Complementary Care is often referenced with Alternative Medicine and referred together as CAM.

Complementary Care is holistic health practices that stop the body’s chronic stress (fight/flight) response to activate the rest and digest (relaxation) response.  It is used in addition to conventional medicine. Examples of complementary care include and are not limited to: energy work (i.e., Reiki, Therapeutic Touch), meditation, nutrition, counselling, coaching, aromatherapy, reflexology, TCM, etc. Complementary Care is an organization directed HSA expense, which means that organizations have the flexibility and ability to include any and all Complementary Care services that employees value. HSA expenses are a taxable benefit for employees.

Alternative Medicine is holistic health practices that are treatment-focused and can be used in place of conventional medicine. The following Alternative Medicine is covered by MSP supplemental health insurance: acupuncture, chiropractic care, massage therapy, naturopathy, physiotherapy and non-surgical podiatry. Alternative Medicine practices covered by MSP are a non-taxable benefit for employees.
