Even a single mindfulness meditation session can reduce anxiety

“Mindfulness meditation programs have shown promise for the treatment of anxiety, one of the most common mental health disorders in the US”.

New research suggests people can reduce their anxiety and receive both mental and physical benefits after one single introductory meditation practice session. Results showed that there was a clear reduction of anxiety the first hour after the meditation. Furthermore, anxiety was significantly reduced even one week after the meditation session.
